The Saturna Community Club is the oldest organization on the island. It has been in existence since 1932 and annual membership dues have never changed; they are still 50 cents.Quarterly meetings of the Community Club are held in September, December, March and June. The annual general meeting is held in the spring each year. Membership is open to all residents and can be paid directly to the Community Club treasurer or at any SCC meeting. Contact Priscilla Ewbank for further information.
The Community Club oversees a large number of committees critical to island life, including: Health Services, Recycling, Healthy Aging (Better at Home and Community Connector), Saturna Heritage Centre, Saturna Community Pantry, Lamb Barbecue, Saturna Singers, Saturna Cemetery and Parks Liaison.
Saturna’s Canada Day Lamb Barbecue is the Community Club’s primary public event (and its main fundraiser). The Community Club also maintains and manages Saturna’s heritage Community Hall.
